Christmas Time

Had to start a little Christmas Cheer. Here are few of the cards I have made for my co-workers. Need to get a jump on it, as I have another 10 to make. Some of the paper I used was a from a kit that Fiskateer Lead Kelly Jo sent to me a a RAK. I was soooooo surprised. I hadn't received a gift like this before. Since it come so close to Christmas last year, I didn't have the time to enjoy it, but I did this year. Thanks Kelly Jo, I loved it, as you can see.

When you see this......

Bethany and I at a trip to "It's Scrapbook Time." We went to hook up with my friend Diane, and when we were in the shop, Beth found a LO she liked. The problem was they did not have all the supplies to make it. So without knowing Diane turned off her flash and took a photo. I didn't know she had gotten the main part I wanted, the saying, and I went up to it with my cell phone to get it. The owner, saw me and said they didn't allow it photos to be taken, because they had them for sale. Except that one! They didn't have one. Oh well, I got what I wanted.

Are we bad or what.....

As many of you know I am a preschool teacher. Each day something new happens, which doesn't surprise us. However, in all the 17+ years of doing this, I have never, except for a planned fire drill, had to remove the children from the building.

Yesterday, during nap time, the company that is building our new playground hit a gas line. During nap time, many of our teachers are on their lunch brakes, but we were lucky because one of our parent had made us lunch, so many of the staff had not left the center.

So here we are, standing in the kitchen filling our plates, and one of the staff member relayed to us that a gas line had broke, but not telling us where. We didn't know if she had left the building, and had seen it some where else, or what. She did not tell us, we had to leave the building. We all just stood there, until a member of the church had come over to our building to help with removing the children, telling us it was one of our gas line.

Everything turned out ok. Children went home with maybe half a hour nap. And we were removed from the building for a hour and a half.

We all laugh after, because we where just standing there looking at each other, because there is always something happening in the area. We are in the middle of Berkeley, near CAL. It's nothing new for something to happen. We were asked why didn't we move when we were told, and it was because the way the message was relayed. "A gas line has broke." It was kinda like that old game "telephone", how a message starts and how it ends up.

We told the parent who make our lunch, that we were willing to "die" for her food.

Cutting fabric with your Cricut....

this is a must. I have used this with felt also, but you do not get the detail cuts, but sometimes with felt we just want the outline.

The quote for the day......

The most difficult thing to face in life are things you do not like about yourself.
Only you can determine what you do and how you respond in a situation. It is your responsibility to make a decision about what is important to you about your health...choose what you want and how you want to get it.
Once you accomplish that, it is your responsibility to move forward until you get it.

Happy New Years to one and all

Here it is 2009. I cannot believe as you become older how the years just do fly by. I have found myself, think back at last year. We have had so many things in our world that is so negative. But I believe we need to look at what we all can be so thankfully for.

I am truly thankfully for my family, my health, and the facts that I have so much.
I have food to eat, a warm home to live in, and the love and support of others.
I have a job to go to, and I don't have to worry about trying to find one.
I live in a country that I can be free and live the type of life I would like.

I have so much, and should remember when things look bad, I need to reflex on what good things I have, and the negative will go away. We all forget what we have and should feel blessed with it, because there is so many that have less.

May peace be with you and your family today, and all the days to come
